This is the “baby” of the Legend amplifier line, as far as I can tell Model A 30 is the smallest one they made. Built in Syracuse, New York.

Legend made their amps with either woven cane grills like a Boogie, or with the high-quality dark-brown speaker cloth seen on this one. I’ve seen both and I like the cloth better than the cane, partly because the speaker with its chrome cap can be seen clearly. You may like the Boogie look better…

The cabinetry is first class all the way - box jointed solid oak! Oak is super stout wood and the massive finger jointing is very expensive to produce. You should know that this amp does not seem heavy at all and is easy to move around.

Legend was renowned for the high quality components it used in all its amplifiers. There is a story on one of the thread links below of someone having their Legend 112 combo tumble down a flight of stairs and out onto the street! Afterward they played a gig with it - it wasn’t even phased!! A roadie’s dream; try that with any other amp.

Legends are highly rated by anyone who’s actually tried one! It’s a hybrid amp with two 12AX7 preamp tubes. Great tone!Great sound! Legend's sound is described as a Marshall / Mesa Boogie blend. Artists including ZZ Top, Jethro Tull and The Outlaws used them.

Most people notice that these amps can get Very LOUD! if you turn them up.  For instance, this little Legend Model A 30 can actually step in front of a Super Reverb! Sounds unbelievable but it’s true, yet it will also turn down and sound great in your apartment without disturbing the neighbors.

Because Legend rated their amps by true RMS output, the peak output is about 3 times higher. One of Legend’s brochures on their 50-watt claims it’s louder than most 150-watt amps (see the last pic I posted), which seems to be confirmed by all the comments (check the links & videos listed below).

NOTE!

The amplifier operates on U.S. mains power. A solid, heavy-duty transformer is included, allowing the amp to be used here at home as well. A more technically inclined person can of course convert (or have it converted) to European mains power.

Trade offers are also welcome for this amplifier.
